Xavi: Beating Real Madrid will not decide the league

Barcelona coach Xavi warned his players that they would not guarantee the Spanish Football League title if they beat Real Madrid tomorrow, Sunday, in the “El Clasico”.
Barcelona hosts Real Madrid for the second time in the Spanish League this season, and the meeting comes at a crucial stage in the life of the competition.
Barcelona leads the La Liga standings by nine points, which means that his victory will make the Spanish media announce him as the champion of the competition.
Xavi is aware of the importance of Sunday’s match, but he is not convinced that it will be decisive for both teams.
“If we win, it will be a blow to Real Madrid in the standings,” said Xavi.
He added, “This match will not be decisive, but it will be a heavy blow. Whatever happens, I do not think it will be decisive.”
“We are training normally and we know we have a great chance,” Xavi said. “If we win, we will take a very important step to win the title.”
And he continued, “We have the incentives. For some players, this will be the first league title in their career. We are preparing for the meeting, regardless of how important it is.”
