A few hundred young demonstrators, mostly far-left activists, stirred up unrest between the first and fourth arrondis*****ts of Lyon on Friday night. They were protesting the reform of the pension system and its adoption under Article 49.3. Small groups, mobile and violent, did damage through much of the evening. The town hall was vandalized on the fourth. A fire in the building on Boulevard de la Croix-Rousse was quickly brought under control. Shop windows and a real estate agency in the fourth arrondis*****t were also looted. On Saturday morning, it’s time to clean up and quantify the damage.
