Croatia extends coach Dalic’s contract until 2026 Gulf newspaper
On Saturday, the Croatian Football Association extended the contract of its coach Zlatko Dalic until 2026, after leading him to third place in the 2022 World Cup.
After reaching a historic final in the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Luka Modric and his companions, under the supervision of Dalic, reached the semi-finals of the Qatar World Cup, where they lost 0-3 to Argentina, who won the title later.
Dalic, who took office in 2017, also led his country to the last square in the European Nations League, scheduled for next June.
“Dalic achieved all the goals set for him,” said Marian Kostic, president of the federation.
The president of the federation congratulated the coach, who succeeded in creating a “wonderful atmosphere and unity around the team” and “introducing the spirit of youth while preserving positive results.”
In turn, the 56-year-old coach, who previously supervised the Emirati club Al Ain, said, “This is the most beautiful feeling that any coach has. I have great passion and ambition to continue working with Croatia.
